UPTET is a state-level test, conducted by UPBEB (Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board) for the recruitment of Primary and Upper Primary Level teachers in various schools of Uttar Pradesh.

UPTET Eligibility 2019-

The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board has decided the eligibility norms for the candidates applying for the UPTET. The candidates can either apply for the teacher eligibility test for class I-V or they can choose the TET for class V-VIII. The eligibility norms for both the test are given below:

UPTET Eligibility 2019 (Age Limit)-

Educational Qualification for Class I to V Teacher-

The candidates who want to apply in this category should go through the educational qualification once.

  • Candidate should be a graduate with 2 years of B.T.C training or,
  • Candidate should graduate/post graduate degree from NCTE/RCI recognized University with 2 years D.ED Diploma or,
  • Candidate should be graduate with 2 Years BTC training in Hindi or,
  • Candidate should be graduate with 2 Years BTC training in Urdu or
  • They should have secured 50% marks in 12th standard and 4 years diploma in B.EL.ED.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test for Class VI-VIII

The eligibility conditions for the class VI-VIII Teacher Eligibility Test are as follows:

  • Candidate should be graduate with 2 years of B.T.C training or,
  • Candidate should be Graduate or post graduate with 50% marks from recognized university and also must have 2 years B.D/B.D (Special) diploma.
  • Candidate should graduate/post graduate degree with 50% of marks from NCTE recognized institute.
  • Candidate should be graduate with 50% marks from recognized university. They also have 2 years B.ED/ Special B.ED diploma or,
  • They should have secured 50% marks in 12th standard and 4 years diploma in B.EL.ED.
  • They should have secured 50% marks in 12th standard and 4 years diploma in B.S.C.D or
  • They should have 45% in graduation (SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-serviceman)

UPTET 2019 Exam Pattern

The examination consists of two papers:

UPTET Paper 1:

  • Number of Questions – Total 150 questions, 30 questions in each section.
  • Nature of Questions – Objective type (MCQs). Each question will have four choices out of which only one choice will be a correct one.
  • Exam Mode – Offline
  • Exam Medium – The question paper will be in English and Hindi only.
  • Marking Scheme – Each question carries 1 mark each.
  • Negative Marking – No provision of negative marking.
  • No. of Sections – 5 sections:

Qualifying marks for UPTET:
